Land use capacity of protected natural areas: the case of Masca.

The natural areas of Tenerife are under enormous pressure from the one million inhabitants and the more than four million tourists who visit each year. These circumstances are causing negative effects on the quality of life of the residents of some of these areas, in addition to a significant impact on the natural heritage and the quality of the visits themselves.

On this day, we want to focus on the case of Masca, within the Teno Rural Park, where the overwhelming number of tourists is hindering circulation on access roads, filling up the parking spaces and turning a trip to this hamlet into a real nightmare. Institution representatives, collectives and neighbors will give us their point of view on the situation.
