The CREADOC Laboratory for Creative Documentary Development is a training initiative of the Government of the Canary Islands promoted by Canary Islands Film in partnership with the Festival Internacional de Cine Medioambiental de Canarias (FICMEC) and the Festival Internacional de Cine de Realidad DOCanarias (DOCanarias International Festival of Reality Cinema). It is designed to support documentary projects in the script development stage, with the objective of strengthening their audiovisual narrative and facilitating their circulation within an international context.
The program is structured in two tracks, First Feature and Professional, with three slots available for each, depending on participants’ experience levels. It is aimed at emerging and consolidated filmmakers who reside in the Canary Islands.
The selected projects will receive mentorship throughout the year from established professionals, via three meetings: two in person, as part of FICMEC and DOCanarias, and one virtual session. Participation in the CREADOC Professional track provides additional points in government funding calls issued by the Government of the Canary Islands for the development of feature-length documentaries.
