I started studying music at the age of 5 with solfège training, which I continued until I was 21. At that time, I was a member of the band Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, where my main instrument was the clarinet. Some time later I also played the requinto, eventually becoming the band’s lead requinto player. I was joined on percussion by my colleague Piti, who was also trained at the aforementioned academy.

I took up the guitar at 17. Self-taught, I began to write my own songs. The first concert I gave was at the cult bar Aída Ché, in Buenavista del Norte, a place that always supported live music. In those days, I only had six songs in my repertoire.
In 2000, we created the duo Sin Miedo. We have been inseparable for 26 years, creating our own songs as well as playing rock and rumba covers, as well as some live improvisations.

At FICMEC, we will be playing two of our own songs. The first is “Muñecas olvidadas” (Forgotten Dolls) and the second, written three years ago, “Mi sentimiento como canario” (My Feelings as a Canarian), a song inspired by the huge fire that impacted the island from Candelaria to La Orotava. We will also be playing songs by well-known bands in the Spanish-language musical scene.
