Synopsis

Ahmet, a 15-year-old boy from a remote Yuruk village in North Macedonia, finds refuge in music while navigating his father’s expectations, a conservative community, and his first experience with love — a girl already promised to someone else.

Author

Georgi M. Unkovski (1988, New York) is an award-winning Macedonian screenwriter and director, whose work has been screened at over 200 festivals, as well as on HBO and MTV. He lives in Skopje and studied photography at the Rochester Institute and film at FAMU (Prague). He is a Sundance alumnus. His short Sticker won over 50 awards and DJ Ahmet is his first feature film.
