Synopsis
The world seems to be coming to an end, teeming with the vestiges of a human presence. Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences.
Gints Zilbalodis is a Latvian filmmaker and animator. His first feature film, Away, which he created and directed entirely on his own, won the Contrechamp Award for Best Feature at the Annecy Festival. Away was selected for over 90 festivals and distributed in 18 territories. Before Away, he directed 7 short films using different techniques, including hand-drawn animation and 3D animation based on live-action footage, often blending the styles of these divergent aesthetics. Flow, his second animated feature film, had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.
