Synopsis
Abora is a visual and aural tribute to the Canary Islands, a meditation on time, evolution, and humankind’s impact on Earth. It is a poetic and provocative journey that invites us to reflect on our connection to the environment, our potential to create and destroy, and the delicate balance that holds it all together. Unchecked technological growth and its artificial development are gradually disconnecting us from the origins of life.
Javier Cerdá lives on the island of La Palma, where he focuses on his work as a director and screenwriter. He is a cinematographer, director, screenwriter, and teacher with 25 years of professional experience. Trained at ECAM and EICTV, he has worked on international projects that have been nominated for and awarded Goya Awards.
