Synopsis
Maria, a 17-year-old Kaqchikel Mayan girl. She lives with her parents in a coffee plantation, located on the foothills of an active volcano in Guatemala. She has to deal with an arranged marriage, a plan that she does not accept but from which she cannot run away. She will try to change her destiny despite her indigenous woman condition. However, a complication during her pregnancy will force her to go out looking for a hospital: the modern world of her dreams will save her life but at a high price.
Jayro Bustamante
Bustamante first studied communications at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in the city of Guatemala. After that, he worked for the international agency Ogilvy & Mather as advertisement director.
