Synopsis
María (11), lives with her mother Lilibeth on the edge of a huge garbage dump. Her future depends on selling a litter of purebred puppies to a local gang member. When the deal goes wrong, Lilibeth is forced to go to the outskirts of town and leave Maria working in a recycling factory. Days go by and the mother does not return. Maria, lost and angry, meets Tadeo, a noble and dreamy child who is determined to help María reunite with her mother.
She studied cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. In 2015, she was part of the Berlin Talent Campus in Guadalajara. Her short film Isabel Im Winter (Isabel in Winter) won the award for best short film at the Icaro Festival and was part of the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. She teaches at the Taller Cinematográfico de Mantarraya Producciones and makes commercials and video clips in Nicaragua and Mexico. She is a co-founder of the production company Tanacatana Films, which is focused on promoting independent cinema in Central America. Her first feature film, La hija de todas las rabias (The Daughter of All Rages), has won awards in Torino and San Francisco.
