Synopsis
El Eco (The Echo) is a remote village in northern Mexico, where life is made up of the simplest of things. From the very moment you are born, being a child here is a unique experience that encompasses nature, animals, and people, as well as love, intimacy, and the cycles of life. And at least for the young ones, education.
His debut El lugar más pequeño (The Smallest Place, 2011) won the Ariel award for Best Mexican Documentary. He premiered Tempestad (Tempest, 2016) in Berlin, which was also awarded Ariel awards for Best Director and Best Documentary. Noche de fuego (Night of Fire, 2021) received a Special Mention at Cannes and was honored at Donostia. In Berlin, El Eco (2023) was awarded Best Director and Best Documentary.
