Vida Férrea follows the journey of the Ferrocarril Central Andino de Perú, a mining cargo train that descends from the top of the Andes to the Pacific Ocean, carrying tons of wealth while dooming those who cross its tracks.
He graduated with a degree in Communication Studies from the University of Lima and won a Fulbright scholarship to study an MA in Film at the New School University, in New York. In Madrid he began working in the editorial department for directors such as Marcelo Piñeyro, David Baute and Álex de la Iglesia. As a director himself he has made short films such as La novena (The Ninth, finalist in the Canal Plus competition) and Uprooted (which brought him to the Berlinale’s Talent Campus). Vida férrea (Steel Life) is his first feature film.
