Synopsis
Pietro is a boy from the city, Bruno is the last child of a forgotten mountain village. Over the years Bruno remains faithful to his mountain, while Pietro is the one who comes and goes. Their encounters introduce them to love and loss, reminding them of their origins, letting their destinies unfold, as they discover what it means to be true friends for life.
Felix Van Groeningen (Ghent, Belgium) graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts with the short film 50CC (2000). In 2004 he made his feature debut with Steve + Sky, which was followed by works such as Alabama Monroe (2012), which earned him an Oscar nomination and a César Award. Charlotte Vandermeersch (Oudenaarde, Belgium) graduated from Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp, before beginning a successful acting career in films such as Belgium (2016) and series such as Red Sonja. Her first project as co-director, The Eight Mountains, received the Jury Prize at Cannes.
